RUNNING PUMP DRY

Ensure adequate water supply.

Do not run pump without water.

Running a pressure washer pump without water is one of the worst things you can do to your pump.

The pump is cooled by the cool inlet water running through the pump.

Make sure your inlet hose is not kinked.  Check to see if a car or truck can park on your hose if working in a parking lot. You may want to take the handle off the tap you are working from. Seems like small things but could save a pump from a fatal breakdown.

Without water, friction can cook the seals / packings, crack the pistons / plungers, destroy the oil seals, ruin the connecting rods and crankshaft.

Time for a new pump.
