Unloader is by-passing |
Check
seal at ball and seat. Check for broken components
Adjust unloader for pressure increase |
Sometimes the seat and/or seal in
the unloader valve will
be scored or worn. This allows water through the bypass, while the
machine is under pressure.
Check for broken components such as springs and valves. Check
here for more information on different types of unloaders and how they work.
Try adjusting the unloader up and down for pressure increase and decrease,
with the machine operating under pressure. This can help free up stuck components or
move any debris that may be stuck inside.
If all else fails you may need a
new unloader. Some manufacturers make unloader repair kits but if you
have to take your pressure washer to a repair shop to do the work it is
generally less expensive to install a new unloader
valve. Check
here for different styles and sizes to fit your machine,
